To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you'll be doing As a Data Analyst Co-op, you'll join our Global Asset Management (GAM) team, supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives that drive impactful decision-making. You'll work on data transformation projects and contribute to Data and AI innovation, collaborating with technical and business teams across GAM. Your day will involve delivering dashboards and creating insightful data visualizations using Power BI and Databricks. You'll apply modern data engineering practices using Databricks and Azure cloud technologies, and explore how AI, machine learning (ML), and generative AI (Gen AI) can be leveraged within our data work. You'll write data queries and automate processes where possible, engaging with experienced analysts, developers, and business partners. You'll be encouraged to ask questions, iterate on your work, and seek feedback to continuously improve. As your leader, I’ll provide guidance, mentorship, and regular check-ins to ensure you’re supported and set up for success. The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $50,840 to $59,350. The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Work Location: Montreal, QC (fully on-site role) Duration of term: Fall 2026 term (September 2026 - December 2026) How you'll succeed Analytics Support – Assist with data analysis and business intelligence activities to inform strategic decisions. Data Transformation – Prepare, transform, and automate data processes for dashboards and reports using Databricks and Azure cloud technologies. Dashboard Delivery – Create and deliver dashboards using Power BI to provide actionable insights. Data Visualization – Develop clear and compelling data visualizations using Databricks and other platforms. Technical Collaboration – Engage with technical teams and business partners to ensure your work meets organizational needs. Modern Data Engineering – Apply modern data engineering practices, including data modeling, pipeline development, and optimization. AI and ML Exploration – Demonstrate interest in AI, ML, and Gen AI technologies, contributing new ideas for their application in data work. Who you are You have a STEM background. You’re pursuing or have completed studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, giving you a strong technical foundation. You’re fluent with data. You’re comfortable working with large datasets and quickly grasp data structures and relationships, including basic understanding of SQL, relational databases, and data modeling concepts. You have hands-on experience in Databricks and Power BI. You can analyze and visualize data using these platforms. You’re interested in AI and ML. You are eager to learn and explore how AI, ML, and Gen AI technologies can be used in data engineering and analytics. You have relevant technical skills. You bring skills in Databricks, SQL, data engineering, and modeling. Experience with standard programming languages (such as Python or C#) is nice to have. You’re resourceful and a problem solver. You find creative solutions, manage your time effectively, and can automate processes to improve efficiency. You’re collaborative and communicative. You work well with others, value diverse perspectives, and ask questions to clarify and drive results. Values matter to you.
