Job Summary
Solutions for Kids in Pain (SKIP) is a national knowledge mobilization network based at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We are on a mission to unite partners and mobilize knowledge to improve children’s pain management. We recognize needs and engage diverse perspectives to transform evidence into accessible, trusted tools and resources. We accelerate implementation and amplify champions to create momentum and advance solutions for kids in pain. By working together to ease children’s pain, we can change lives forever.
Reporting to the Scientific Director, the Project Leadwill play a leadership role in the planning, execution, and evaluation of various projects and initiatives at SKIP, collaborating closely with internal and external partners to ensure the successful implementation of projects.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage project workplans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Monitor project progress and report on status. Manage project changes, including scope, timeline, and budget adjustments, in alignment with organizational priorities.

Develop and execute communication strategies for projects, including internal and external messaging, and content creation. Support knowledge mobilization efforts by synthesizing and sharing research, resources, and key findings with relevant audiences.

Organize and lead project meetings with scientific leadership, staff, external partners, contracted personnel, and patient partners. Lead the creation of presentations, reports, and other materials to communicate project outcomes and impact.

Act as a key liaison and facilitate engagement with external partners, including health professionals, community organizations, and patient partners. Coordinate meaningful, inclusive and culturally appropriate engagement outreach and activities.

Provide administrative support to project teams, including scheduling meetings and preparing agendas. Maintain and manage project documentation. Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, forecast needs, and support financial reporting.

Collect and synthesize feedback from interest holders to assess the effectiveness of project delivery, knowledge mobilization, communication, and engagement efforts. Support the evaluation of project outcomes and provide input on performance metrics and reporting.
Note
The incumbent may be required to travel nationally and internationally occasionally with an estimated <5%-time commitment**.** Occasional evening or weekend work may also be required to meet deadlines and other operational requirements with an estimated frequency of <5%-time commitment. Scheduling and compensation will be in accordance with the collective agreement.
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, psychology, pediatric medicine) plus at least three years’ relevant experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).

Experience managing projects with demonstrated flexibility, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to take initiative.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance competing priorities to meet deadlines while working independently with minimal supervision.

Strong interpersonal, teamwork, relationship building, and communication (written and verbal) skills.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with video conference and webinar technology.

Valid passport for travel purposes.
