About The Role

What if your expertise in biotech data governance could directly shape how AI understands and works with clinical and research data at scale? We're looking for a Biotech Health Data Governance Lead to ensure that the research and clinical trial data powering next-generation AI models is accurate, traceable, compliant, and scientifically sound.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for experienced life sciences professionals who understand what it takes to govern sensitive, regulated data in high-stakes environments.

What You'll Do

Govern biotech research and clinical trial datasets to ensure accuracy, lineage, and full auditability for scientific analysis and regulatory submissions Define and enforce data policies covering classification, access controls, security protocols, and metadata standards across research, clinical, regulatory, and partner teams Enable secure, governed access to data for analytics, innovation initiatives, and external collaborations — while rigorously protecting confidential and patient-related information Identify gaps in data quality, compliance posture, and governance coverage, and recommend practical solutions Collaborate cross-functionally with scientific, IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to align data standards, workflows, and best practices Support AI training pipelines with well-structured, trustworthy biotech and clinical data

Who You Are

Experienced in leading or implementing data governance programs within biotech, life sciences, clinical research, or other regulated data environments Deep understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance requirements relevant to research and clinical trial data (e.g., HIPAA, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11) Comfortable translating complex regulatory and technical requirements into actionable governance frameworks Skilled at working across diverse teams — scientists, IT professionals, compliance officers, and business leads — to drive alignment Detail-oriented, methodical, and capable of maintaining high data quality standards under real-world constraints Self-motivated and reliable when working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment

Nice to Have

Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training data workflows Familiarity with clinical data management systems (EDC, CTMS, LIMS) or regulatory submission platforms Background in bioinformatics, clinical data science, or health informatics Experience with metadata management frameworks or data cataloguing tools
