About the role

Develops knowledge in performance sciences, advanced strength and conditioning and advanced therapies in the sport setting. Using a mixed model of interactive classroom sessions and practical experience with a REDS athletic team, knowledge from various Kinesiology courses is applied through leading athlete physical testing, designing and implementing athlete physical preparation and recovery (i.e., warmups, cooldowns), managing and presenting data, providing strength and conditioning coaching, and assisting in athlete rehab and return to play. Will lead weekly meetings with team student therapists, mentor athletic therapy students, and manage flow of information between coaching staff and team specialists.Prerequisite: KIN 4282, KIN 3920, and permission of the instructorMaster's degree in Kinesiology or a combination of education and experience.KIN 3940 is cross listed with KIN 4920 and the stipend value ($) is given for KIN 4920 at 1ch and not 6ch due to the nature of the course.Priority will be given to those holding a Right-of-First-Refusal on this course.This position is subject to final budgetary approval and subject to minimum enrolment.Applications must be submitted by email, as specified.Applicant's resume, cover letter and other supporting documents (i.e.: student opinion surveys) are to accompany the email application.The Contract Academic Instructor Collective Agreement can be found here.
