Overview

Our Primary Care team is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in our clinic on a full-time basis for a 13-month term maternity leave contract. This Registered Nurse will act as a member of an inter-professional primary care team, which includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, administrative staff, and allied health professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, treatment, and education, under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner;

  • Perform routine procedures, such as administering medications, immunizations, allergy shots, ear irrigation, dressing changes, and specimen collection;

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans;

  • Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in electronic medical records;

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes

  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention strategies

Qualifications

  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario;

  • 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a community or primary health care setting;

  • Experience using a medical software program, preferably PSS, is an asset;

  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations such as newcomers and refugees;

  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills;

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team;

  • Fluency in English and French preferred; other languages are assets;

  • Proficiency in the use of computers and electronic medical records;

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Salary: $39.72 – $46.73 per hour (commensurate with experience).
