Position Rundle College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our athletic department as the Sr. Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach. This individual supports the Head Coach in all facets of team management, instruction, and competition. The successful candidate will contribute to creating a positive, competitive, and disciplined environment for student-athletes. The successful incumbent will report to the Athletic Director and Principal.
Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting effective and structured daily practices. Provide skilled instruction on fundamental and advanced basketball techniques, strategies, and game concepts. Share responsibility for the supervision of student-athletes during practices, games, and team travel. Fulfill game-day responsibilities, including pre-game preparation, bench management, and post-game duties, as directed by the Head Coach. Actively promote and enforce standards of sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among all team members. Ensure compliance with all school, district, and athletic association policies and regulations.
Seasonal Commitment
Basketball season runs from November through March. League games are typically scheduled on Monday and/or Wednesday evenings. Team participation includes 2–3 tournaments throughout the season. Attendance at practices, games, tournaments, and team events is required. Rundle may provide a voluntary honorarium payment as a gesture of appreciation for your support of programming. This will be dependent on time commitment and experience level.
Qualifications Proven experience coaching basketball at the high school level or higher. Demonstrated strong knowledge of fundamental and advanced basketball skills, techniques, and game strategies. A strong commitment to promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and academic balance among student-athletes. Relevant coaching certifications, first aid certification would be considered an asset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and motivate young adults. Current coaching certifications and/or First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
