Job Title: CAT-VAC Operator
We are looking to hire CAT-VAC Operators for seasonal work. Must be TDG knowledgeable, with wiggle wagon operating experience, minimum class 5 license.
Job Summary: This position is based on a worksite and involves the safe and efficient operation of CAT Vac equipment. Successful candidates must be mechanically inclined, physically fit, and capable of working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Preference will be given to individuals with prior industrial experience, particularly those with experience operating wiggle wagons.
Duties and Responsibilities: Safely and efficiently operate CAT Vac equipment in accordance with company and site procedures. Be physically capable of performing required duties and working in a variety of weather conditions. Accurately complete all required daily documentation, including logbooks, customer work orders, field-level risk assessments (FLRAs), and pre- and post-trip inspections. Carry out assigned tasks as directed by Dispatch and/or Supervisors. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of assigned equipment through daily housekeeping and routine care. Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety meetings, and comply with all company, client, and site-specific safety policies and procedures. Operate and maintain all BME tools and equipment in accordance with established standards and operating procedures. Ensure all required certifications, training, and qualifications remain current and valid. Adhere to all applicable Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and WHMIS regulations. Identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and service delivery. Deliver professional, customer-focused service in all interactions and job-related activities
Qualifications: Possess a minimum valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract. Previous CAT Vac, Wiggle wagon experience. Previous or related experience operating at least three of these types of units: Water, Vacuum, Hydro, or Combo Vac units, considered an asset. Mine drive experience Eligible to work at Syncrude Site. Clear verbal and written communication skills. OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification.
