I’m currently working with a manufacturing client in Orangeville, Ontario that is looking to bring on a Quality Engineer for an initial 6-month contract. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on quality environment and wants to gain more experience in the automotive industry.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements • Develop, review, and update quality documentation including control plans, work instructions, inspection standards, and procedures • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) activities using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.) and drive effective corrective and preventive actions • Partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements on the shop floor • Analyze internal and external quality data (scrap, rework, customer complaints, PPM trends) to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives • Support new product introduction (NPI) and engineering changes by ensuring quality requirements are defined and met (APQP, PPAP as applicable) • Conduct process audits, layered audits, and support external/customer audits to ensure compliance with quality standards • Monitor and improve key quality KPIs and provide regular reporting to leadership • Support supplier quality activities including issue resolution and performance monitoring • Ensure proper implementation of measurement systems, including MSA studies and calibration control • Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with GD&T and customer requirements

Quality Engineer requirement: • 1~2 years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment (Internship and Co-op also counts) • Experience with quality systems, process development, and policy implementation • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams • CQE designation is considered an asset • Control Plans and FMEA • GD&T, MSA, and calibration knowledge • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Experience with 2D/3D CAD drawings
