Kafka Administrator / Kafka Architect Remote, Canada | 12-Month T4 Contract | Remote
About the Role Our consulting client is seeking an experienced Kafka Administrator / Kafka Architect to design, implement, and support enterprise-scale Kafka-based data streaming solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering Kafka environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable data integration solutions on Azure. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with strong Kafka administration and architecture experience who enjoy working on modern cloud-based streaming platforms. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain scalable Kafka-based solutions. Administer and support enterprise Kafka environments. Configure and manage Kafka Schema Registry and Kafka Connect. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Kafka clusters for performance and reliability. Implement and support Confluent Kafka environments. Utilize AMS for Apache Kafka to monitor cluster health and system performance. Collaborate with solution architects and development teams to deliver Azure-based data streaming solutions. Optimize database performance using ANSI SQL. Conduct system health checks, audits, and proactive issue resolution. Ensure Kafka environments meet security, scalability, and availability standards. Translate business requirements into technical solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Contribute to data-driven initiatives that improve business decision-making. Required Skills Strong experience with Kafka Administration Kafka Schema Registry Kafka Connect Confluent Kafka Apache Kafka AMS for Apache Kafka ANSI SQL Microsoft Azure Kafka Architecture Experience designing highly available Kafka environments Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Nice to Have Experience with Accounts Receivable or Cash Application processes Domain knowledge in applying cash to invoices Compensation The hourly rate for this contract position is $61/hour (T4). Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
