Job Title: QA Automation Engineer (Selenium, Java, Appium) Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) / Remote Duration: 6 Months Contract Job Summary We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Selenium, Java, and Appium to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks for web and mobile applications, ensuring high-quality software delivery. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Java, and Appium. Develop and execute automated test scripts for web and mobile applications (Android and iOS). Create and maintain regression, smoke, functional, integration, and end-to-end test suites. Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and Product Owners to understand requirements and define test scenarios. Perform API testing using tools such as Postman and Rest Assured. Execute automated and manual test cases, analyze results, and report defects. Track and manage defects using JIRA or similar defect management tools. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines. Prepare test plans, test cases, test execution reports, and quality metrics. Perform root cause analysis and work closely with development teams to resolve issues. Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and automation standards. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation. Strong hands-on experience with Java. Expertise in Selenium WebDriver for web automation testing. Experience with Appium for mobile automation testing. Experience with TestNG or JUnit frameworks. Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC). Experience with API testing using Postman and Rest Assured. Experience with Maven and Git. Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins. Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with Cucumber (BDD Framework). Experience testing REST and SOAP web services. Experience with SQL and database validation testing. Experience with BrowserStack or Sauce Labs. Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter. Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Retail, or Telecom domains. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
