About the role

The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) is hiring a Labourer in the Maintenance Relief Pool department on a temporary basis for up to two (2) months . This position requires on-site work and is based in Regina, SK. 

Shift: 4 days on, then 3 days off - 37.33 hours/week 

We operate a world-class refinery that utilizes cutting-edge technology to produce 130,000 barrels of refined petroleum products per day and an annual production capacity of 6.8 billion liters. Apply as a labourer at the Co-op Refinery Complex today! 

What you’ll do: 

  • The Maintenance Relief Pool consists of Labourers responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks that support the overall operation of the Refinery Complex.  

  • Candidates must be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions.  

  • Tasks include but are not limited to:  

  • Gardening, maintenance of sprinkler systems, weed and lawn control, hand excavating and general landscaping. 

  • Cleaning units including oil spills, utilizing a high-pressure washer and/or a water hose from a hydrant. 

  • Performing general site cleanup/organization, housekeeping and tool maintenance. 

  • Painting activities. 

  • Jackhammering. 

  • Lifting heavy objects such as barrels and furniture. 

  • Helping Maintenance Trades on a relief basis when required. 

  • Work in confined space and from heights will be required. 

  • Snow and Ice control and removal. 

Who you’ll work with:  The Team: You will work closely with other labourers and Tradespersons across the Maintenance Department and will report into the Trades Supervisor.

Who you are:  You are looking for a career in  Production, Trades and Maintenance  and: 

  • You must follow the CCRL “Work-Safe” Approach. Completion of Grade XII including Chemistry 30, Physics 30, and Math/Algebra 30 is required. If the candidate is missing one of these three classes, the application will be accepted provided the missing class is completed within a prescribed time period. Applications from candidates who do not possess technical qualifications (ex. education, tickets) required for the position as of the closing date of application will not be accepted.  

  • Candidates must possess mechanical aptitude, familiarity with refinery tools and equipment, good interpersonal and communication skills, and the capability to physically perform the work.
