About the role
Duties & Responsibilities
Monitors all patient and client menu tickets for meals and snacks. Updates patient diet orders through phone calls to units. Updates cardex in computer CBORD system. Processes all patients and clients menu transactions. Orders internal bulk feedings for patients. Processes menus according to diet lists; verifies e-mail messages and phone calls from nursing units requesting diet or meal changes in accordance with stated diets. Monitors hospital interface to ensure all hospital transactions are complete. Records and relays messages to relevant staff. Inputs patient menu selection in CBORD. Prints menus, tray tickets and labels for all patients and clients. Prints tally sheets pre-meals. Organizes menus according to floors. Works cooperatively and constructively with all hospital employees. Follows departmental, hospital policies and procedures and rules, regulations and legislation. Eg. WHMIS, Human Rights and safe work practices.
Qualifications
Must be computer literate. Diploma in Nutrition and Food Services an asset CSNM membership an asset Must have a valid Food Handler's Certificate Knowledge of CBORD or other Diet Office Software system would be an asset. Must be able to read, speak, write and understand English. Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize workload. Ability to work in a fast paced environment Must be punctual and have an excellent attendance record.
Hours of work:Must be available to work all shifts; mornings (6:00-2:00pm), days (11:30am-7:30pm) and weekends/holidays (6:00 - 1:30pm and 12:00pm-7:00pm). Shifts are subject to change based on departmental needs.
