About the role
Senior Front-End Engineer (React / Next.js) — 6-Month Contract, Remote — $84/hr (T4) Our client is a global software company whose design and engineering platforms are used by millions of architects, engineers, and creators worldwide — a household name in the design technology space with a major digital presence to match.
We're hiring a senior front-end engineer to join the team behind their large-scale, content-driven web platform. This is hands-on React work at serious scale: you'll be building modern front-end experiences in React and Next.js, integrating with microservice-based backend services, and working across the full delivery layer — headless CMS, CDN, experimentation, and personalization.
What the day-to-day looks like: Building and optimizing large-scale front-end applications in React and Next.js, including server-side rendering, static generation, and edge rendering Integrating with backend microservices and REST/GraphQL APIs, including error handling and close collaboration with the teams that own those services Working with a headless CMS (Contentful) and CDN layer (Akamai) to deliver a high-performance, globally distributed web experience Contributing to experimentation and personalization capabilities — A/B testing, feature flagging, segment-based experiences Partnering directly with architects while owning your work independently
What we're looking for: 5–7+ years of hands-on front-end development on modern, large-scale applications Deep React expertise — component architecture, state management, and performance optimization, not just framework familiarity Next.js experience, including SSR/SSG Experience working with CDN platforms (Akamai preferred; Cloudflare or similar considered) Hands-on experience with Contentful or another headless CMS (Sanity, Strapi, AEM Headless, Prismic) Strong grasp of responsive design, accessibility, SEO, and web performance Comfort integrating with microservices and backend systems
Nice to have: experience with experimentation platforms (LaunchDarkly, Adobe Target, Optimizely), AWS, CI/CD pipelines, design systems, or building visual authoring / page-builder experiences.
Details: 6-month full-time contract, fully remote (Canada), $84/hr on a T4 basis. Incorporated/C2C arrangements are not available for this role. Interviews are moving quickly — the hiring manager is reviewing profiles as they come in.
