Reporting to the Supervisor, Fleet Maintenance Engineering and Warranty, the Fleet Maintenance Engineer supports the development, implementation, coordination and sustainment of BC Transit’s provincial fleet maintenance program in the areas of fleet maintenance, reliability engineering, fleet technical documentation and fleet innovation. Please note this is a 12 month Full Time Temporary opportunity. What you'll bring to the table... We value lifelong learners and have found that a mix of any of the following credentials have set people up for success in this role in the past: Post secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Related experience in fleet management or the transportation sector Knowledge of concepts, practices and techniques of bus mechanics and maintenance Planning and coordination skills to manage projects, develop plans and procedures, and coordinate programs Communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships, including all levels of staff, manufacturers, and other industry vendors and contractors Problem-solving and decision-making skills to provide technical advice and engineering-related problem resolution Knowledge of the environmental impacts on a fleet, from a variety of locations across BC What we'll bring to the table...
