About the role
Dougall Media, Thunder Bay’s only locally owned broadcast and multimedia company, has an opening within our digital operations team for a Digital Platform Traffic Intern.
This role focuses on ensuring digital advertising campaigns are set up accurately, launched on time, and monitored across multiple advertising platforms in a fast-paced media environment. It is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, process-driven, and interested in learning how digital campaigns are executed from setup through to delivery. Responsibilities Include:
Campaign Setup & Trafficking
- Assist with the setup and trafficking of digital advertising campaigns across platforms including Village Media, StackAdapt, Illumin, Google Display & Video 360, and Spotify Ad Studio.
- Assist in confirming campaign intake details including campaign specification, target inputs, budgets, and timeliness prior to launch.
- Review campaigns prior to launch to ensure creative assets, click-through URLs, targeting parameters, budgets, timeliness, and landing page readiness are accurate and aligned with campaign requirements.
Quality Assurance & Accuracy Checks

Campaign Monitoring & Updates
- Monitor live campaigns and support basic updates or adjustments as directed, helping ensure campaigns run smoothly and deliver as expected.
- Maintain organized campaign naming conventions and asset folders across platforms and ensure consistent workflow tracking.
Asset & Data Management
- Organize and manage creative assets, tracking documents, and campaign details to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Team Support & Coordination
- Work closely with the Digital Platform Management Intern and internal teams to support workflow coordination, meet deadlines, and resolve basic platform or campaign issues.
- Follow documentation processes and trafficking checklists to support standardized campaign delivery.
- Support development of technical skills in programmatic advertising platforms and campaign delivery systems.
Other duties as assigned related to the team objectives.
Requirements for this position:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Marketing, Business, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in digital marketing, advertising operations, or media platforms, with a desire to build hands-on experience.
- Strong willingness and ability to learn new platforms, tools, and processes in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of curiosity and coachability.
- Exposure to or introductory knowledge of digital platforms such as StackAdapt, Illumin, Google Display & Video 360, Spotify Ad Studio, Meta Ads Manager, Mailchimp, or a CMS such as Village Media is considered an asset but not required.
- High level of attention to detail, with the ability to follow processes carefully and ensure accuracy in campaign setup and data entry.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a deadline-driven environment.
- Comfortable working across multiple systems, spreadsheets, and digital tools, with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team, taking direction and providing updates as needed.
