Position Overview Are you an agile accounting professional looking for your next challenge? We are proactively building a network of high-caliber Senior Accountants for upcoming 3 to 6-month contract opportunities. When these projects launch, you will play a critical role in our finance team—overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, driving the month-end close process, and ensuring the absolute accuracy of our financial records.

This will be a hybrid role based out of our Toronto, ON office, requiring 3 days per week in-office and 2 days remote. Anticipated Job Details Position Type: Contract (3–6 months) Location: Toronto, ON (Downtown core) Work Model: Hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days remote) Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do) Once the role goes live, your core focus will include: Month-End & Year-End Close: Leading and executing month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Financial Reporting: Preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements). Account Reconciliation: Performing complex bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving variances promptly. Journal Entries: Preparing and posting standard, recurring, and adjusting journal entries. Variance Analysis: Conducting monthly variance analysis against budget and forecast to provide meaningful insights to management. Audit Support: Assisting with internal and external audit preparation by compiling documentation and pulling schedules. What We Look For (Qualifications) Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Designation: CPA designation (completed or in the final stages) is highly preferred. Experience: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven track record in a Senior Accountant capacity. Technical Skills: * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Index/Match). Hands-on experience with major ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
