About the role

About Be the Change Group Be the Change Group is a research firm and creative agency that partners with organizations in health, education, and climate to drive meaningful change. We’re a mission-driven, woman-owned, certified B Corp with a close, in-person culture built on growth, mentorship, purpose, friendship, and fun. We bring researchers, strategists, designers, and developers together under one roof at our beautiful office in Vancouver’s Chinatown, combining the rigour of a research firm with the imagination of a creative agency. Our mission is simple: do good things, work with amazing people, make communities healthy, create lasting change. From global health foundations to education innovators and environmental leaders, our interdisciplinary teams design human-centred, evidence-based campaigns and digital tools for partners around the world. In 2024 alone, our work reached more than 325,000 people through digital products and campaigns, and contributed to hundreds of millions of dollars in global health funding commitments. We’re also proud members of 1% for the Planet, donating 1% of our annual sales to environmental causes. About the Role We’re looking for a Digital Marketing & Social Media Consultant to join us on contract, splitting time between our own brand and the clients we serve. This role is roughly 60% internal, helping us tell Be the Change Group’s own story, grow our channels, and strengthen our brand, and 40% client-facing, supporting the digital marketing and social media work we do for our partners in health, education, and climate. That split can shift depending on what’s needed week to week, and you’ll need to be comfortable moving between the two. This is a 3 to 6 month contract to start. Our goal isn’t to fill a seat quickly, it’s to find the right person, and if it’s a great mutual fit, we would love to extend this to something permanent. How we work We’re an in-person, team-based office in Vancouver’s Chinatown, and a lot of our best work happens when we’re together: solving problems around our desks, grabbing lunch, celebrating wins, and pitching in for each other during big pushes. As a contractor, we’d love to have you in the office on a regular basis — it’s the best way to get a feel for our culture, build relationships with the team, and help bring our brand to life. This role is best suited to someone who wants to be part of a team. If being part of a close, collaborative, in-person team sounds energizing rather than exhausting, you’ll feel right at home with us. Who you are A self-starter who doesn’t wait to be told what to do. You see what needs to happen, and you do it. Hardworking and accountable. You finish what you start and own the outcome. Highly organized, and able to juggle priorities across internal and client work without dropping the ball. Resourceful. When you don’t know how, you figure it out. Detail-oriented. Mistakes are rare; follow-through is the norm. A team player who takes pride in supporting others and making the people around you better. Humble. No task is beneath you — this attitude applies to our whole team, including our founders. Genuinely excited to work in person, as part of a team, in a collaborative studio environment. What you’ll doTelling our own story (internal, ~60%) Manage and grow Be the Change Group’s own social channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, and others), keeping content consistent with our voice, brand, and mission. Plan and support internal marketing campaigns, from impact report launches to recruitment, culture content, and announcements. Write and edit copy for our website, quarterly newsletter, case studies, and social posts. Support basic SEO and AEO for bethechangegroup.com, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and meta titles and descriptions. Help document and share our culture, projects, and wins, both internally and to the outside world. Bring ideas to the team to improve our brand, brand story, and digital presence. Client Work (~40%) Support the planning and delivery of digital marketing campaigns for clients across multiple channels. Assist with the setup, monitoring, and optimization of paid campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and TikTok Ads. Manage and grow client social media channels: creating, scheduling, and publishing content aligned with each client’s brand. Monitor social and digital trends, audience behaviour, and competitor activity to inform recommendations. Track key metrics such as reach, engagement, traffic, conversions, leads, and return on ad spend. Across everything you do Use analytics tools to track performance, identify trends, and surface opportunities for improvement. Produce regular performance reports and translate data into clear, practical recommendations. Write clear, engaging, brand-appropriate copy across formats: social, ads, email, web, and blog. Support testing and optimization across ads, copy, creative, landing pages, and social content. Coordinate campaign calendars, content schedules, and launches, working with internal teams and external partners to keep everything on track. Skills and experienceEssential Minimum 3 years’ experience in a digital marketing, social media, advertising, or content-focused role. Hands-on experience managing social media channels for a business, brand, or organization. Experience supporting or managing paid advertising campaigns. Strong written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone of voice for different channels and audiences. Good understanding of digital marketing metrics and campaign performance reporting. Comfortable using scheduling, analytics, advertising, and content management tools. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities at once. A proactive, detail-oriented approach, with a willingness to test, learn, and improve. A portfolio of real campaign examples, including performance metrics and key insights, that you can walk us through. Copywriting experience across web, social, email, and advertising formats. Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, or LinkedIn Campaign Manager. Desired Experience with SEO and AEO, including keyword research and on-page optimization. Basic experience with email marketing platforms, CRM systems, or marketing automation tools. Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar creative tools. Basic knowledge of website CMS platforms such as WordPress or similar. Experience working alongside external agencies, freelancers, designers, or content creators. Contract details 3 to 6 month contract to start, with a possibility of growing into a longer-term role for the right fit. Flat monthly rate based on experience Based at our office in Vancouver’s Chinatown, in person on most working days.
