Our consultants work closely with business owners, executives, and internal HR teams to navigate complex people issues, strengthen organizational practices, and elevate overall HR capability.

We are growing our network of experienced HR professionals who are interested in flexible, consulting-based engagements with a variety of clients and industries. This is an ideal opportunity for senior HR practitioners who enjoy solving complex people challenges, advising leadership teams, and bringing strategic insight to organizations that need experienced HR guidance without a full-time executive hire.
Consultants engaged through TAG HR may work with clients on an ongoing fractional basis (e.g. a scheduled number of hours per month), for specific projects, or in support of time-sensitive employee relations matters.
What You’ll Do Depending on the client engagement, responsibilities may include: Advising business owners, executives, and internal HR teams on complex HR matters Supporting organizations through employee relations issues, investigations, performance management, and terminations Providing guidance related to labor relations, unionized environments, and workplace conflict Advising on disability management, accommodation processes, stress leave, return-to-work planning, and employee wellness concerns Supporting workforce planning, organizational design, restructuring, and change management initiatives Assisting with senior-level recruitment strategies and contractor engagement considerations Reviewing and strengthening HR policies, procedures, and compliance practices Coaching leaders on difficult conversations, people management, and risk mitigation Bringing best practices and cross-industry insights to improve overall HR effectiveness Acting as a trusted advisor during periods of growth, transition, or operational complexity
What We’re Looking For We are seeking consultants who bring a combination of strong technical HR expertise, sound judgment, and business acumen.
Ideal candidates will have: 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior advisory or leadership responsibilities Experience supporting organizations across multiple industries and business environments Strong knowledge of employment standards, workplace legislation, employee relations, and HR best practices Experience managing sensitive and complex workplace matters with professionalism and discretion Exposure to unionized and non-unionized environments Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills The ability to operate independently while building trusted relationships with clients A practical, solutions-oriented approach with strong risk assessment capabilities CHRP, CHRL, CPHR, or equivalent designation considered an asset
Engagement Structure Flexible, consultant-based opportunities Fractional and project-based client engagements Remote and/or hybrid opportunities depending on client needs Hours may vary by engagement and can range from ad hoc advisory support to recurring monthly commitments
