Thermodynamics Engineer
About the role
Business Title: Thermodynamics Engineer Location: Montreal, QC, Canada (Onsite preferred, remote applicable who should visit onsite occasionally in a month.) Job Type: Contract
Must have: Environmental Control System (ECS) Bleed Air System Ice Protection / Anti-Icing Thermal Analysis / Thermodynamics Avionics Cooling
In your role, you will: Support new aircraft program development and in service aircraft in all thermodynamics related issues. These include aircraft ice/fog protection systems performance, zonal pressure, temperature and flowrate analysis, avionics cooling, and general thermal analysis of systems and structures. It requires understanding of the systems that are being analyzed and how they interface with the aircraft and other aircraft systems. It also requires communicating with internal systems/structures groups, system suppliers, and flight test teams to resolve issues, plan tests, analyze and certify modifications. More specifically, this position is to help the Global 7000 / 8000 thermodynamic team support the activities related to bleed air systems (wing ice protection system, environmental control system, ducting system, etc.).
Qualifications: You must possess a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering. A Master's degree including courses in fluid dynamics, atmospheric icing and heat transfer would be an asset. You have knowledge of MS Office software and familiarity with the various aircraft pneumatics systems and their modeling is essential. Familiarity with CATIA V5 and with programming languages such as Fortran 77/95, Visual Basic and C/C++ would be an asset. You must possess good interpersonal skills as well as good written and oral communication skills. You must be available to travel on short term assignments.
