School of Applied Health Sciences NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re looking for an instructor to join our Faculty of Health Studies team at our Edmonton & Wetaskiwin campuses in our Health Care Aide program.
Graduates of NorQuest College’s Health Care Aide program are also Difference Makers in terms of the health care that Albertans receive. Our students prepare for their clinical experiences with theory and hands-on learning in multiple modes of delivery, and we are proud of the varied and robust learning experiences in our programs. We utilize low and high-fidelity simulation to augment the learner experience, providing students with a safe learning environment to practice and reflect.

This position is a 9-month term position with opportunity for renewal through a competitive process.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Deliver engaging instruction across classroom, lab, clinical, and simulation settings, creating meaningful learning experiences that support student success
Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages participation, confidence, and professional growth
Assess learner progress through skill demonstrations, competency evaluations, and timely formative and summative feedback aligned with program outcomes
Develop, adapt, and implement instructional materials and individualized learning plans to meet diverse learner needs
Provide clinical leadership and oversight, including student orientation, client assignments, progress monitoring, and practicum evaluation in accordance with curriculum and regulatory standards
Maintain accurate student records, grades, documentation, and reports while ensuring compliance with college policies, legislation, and accreditation requirements
Collaborate with students, colleagues, and healthcare partners through case conferences and ongoing communication to support learner achievement and program excellence
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development, staying current with industry best practices, healthcare standards, and educational innovations
WHAT YOU BRING
Designation as an RN (with active registration with CRNA) or LPN (with active registration with CLPNA) with no conditions in Alberta is required At least 1 year of full-time experience in clinical nursing or nursing education experience in Canada within the last three years required A bachelor’s degree in nursing or health related field, or the current pursuit of a nursing or health related field degree 1 year of minimum of adult teaching experience required OR completion of a bachelor’s degree in education OR completion of an adult teaching/learning program 3 years of full-time experience in clinical nursing preferred 1 year of minimum of adult teaching experience required OR completion of a bachelor’s degree in education OR completion of an adult teaching/learning program. 3 years of full-time experience in clinical nursing preferred.
In the Health Care Aid program, we ask that you commit to between 2 to 4 weeks full-time to take students out to clinical placements (Monday to Friday rotating days and evenings) at least twice in an academic term.
If your education was received internationally we recommend you obtain an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations.
