About the role

Who are we?

A global leader of naval, military and marine Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) systems & equipment. Bronswerk provides turnkey solutions for commercial and military vessels through its 12 offices worldwide. Bronswerk manages the entire process, from design to commissioning, installation and in-service support.

Your challenge:
Reporting to the Project Manager while working closely with the HR and QA teams, the OHS&E Coordinator will be mainly active in leading the execution of safety, field support and training needs within the Vancouver Installer Group. This position is for a 1 year contract with possible extension.

OHS&E

  • Implement and Maintain the WSBC H&S plan with the collaboration of the QA & HR team,
  • Responsible for allocating training and fit-testing as necessary,
  • Manage and put in place mitigation plans,
  • Conduct site/workplace inspections and verify safe working conditions,
  • Participate in incident investigations and filing paperwork with WSBC,
  • Participate in HazID or near misses, and corrective actions as necessary,
  • Prepare and deliver monthly safety meetings (JOHSC),
  • Participate in daily safety toolbox meetings,
  • Partake in new hire orientations, relating to safety,
  • Conduct safety inspections and JHA/FLRA (Field Level Risk Assessment) audits,
  • Tracking and maintain safety statistics.

Production Support

Assist production team with operational support activities including but not limited to:

  • Support the installation manager with tracking production team attendance,
  • Support the production engineers with tracking incoming JIRA ticket issues,
  • Support the HR team on the onboarding process
  • Assist the HR team & Production team with additional projects as required,

What sets you apart?

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in safety,
  • Thorough knowledge of Provincial OH&S acts and legislation,
  • Certificate in OH&S,
  • Degree in HR (an asset)
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word),
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and a Canadian Government Security clearance.
