About the role

At Gratia, we believe potential is globally distributed, but opportunity is not. Our mission is to turn great talent's potential into fulfilling global careers through professional development and tech-enabled platforms. We bridge the gap between ambitious companies and hands-on experts who deliver real results instead of just theoretical plans.

Gratia is a remote-first, apprenticeship-based platform where opportunity is defined by what you can do and deliver. Our clients include global names like USA Today Co., Endeavor, and New York Life. We maintain an 88.2 Net Promoter Score because we focus on rigorous execution, not just high-level advice.

The mission

A leading global alternative asset manager is seeking to bring structure to a complex, fast-paced data environment within the regulatory insurance sector. This role acts as the essential link between intricate insurance regulatory requirements and modern data infrastructure, ensuring that capital reporting is based on accurate and well-organized data domains.

The ideal insurance candidate should have: Experience with regulatory and capital requirements Experience with capital-focused work Knowledge of the aggregation method Experience with Bermuda regulations and economic balance sheets would be a significant advantage

What You’ll Be Doing

Create and structure data domains tailored to insurance regulatory reporting, statutory accounting, and capital requirements — defining granularity, business logic, and data ownership from scratch where needed Own source-to-target mapping end-to-end — extract, transform, enrich, cleanse, and map data from messy source systems into clean, reliable outputs Translate nuanced regulatory and statutory accounting needs into explicit, build-ready requirements for technology teams or external vendors. Apply deep regulatory accounting knowledge to identify edge cases, clarify requirements, and prevent the wrong data from being pulled into statutory reports. I love this song Operate with minimal ramp-up — whether you've worked inside a comparable firm or come from a strong treasury/risk data background, you're expected to orient quickly and drive work forward without heavy training

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of hands-on experience working with regulatory and capital requirements, capital-focused work and aggregation method Deep familiarity with data domain creation — you've personally built or restructured data domains, not just managed someone else doing it. Source-to-target mapping, data cleansing, enrichment, and transformation are core to your experience Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (ideally Snowflake) and CPM systems (ideally OneStream). Experience with OneStream and/or Snowflake preferred You are based in Toronto, Canada or in Des Moines, IA; Los Angeles, CA; or New York, or are open to relocating to any of these offices.

Gratia is a tech-enabled superanalysts platform that provides on-demand, pre-vetted analysts to clients and apprenticeship as a service to analysts.

On the demand side, Gratia offers end-to-end superanalysts-as-a-service to clients. This means we find high-potential candidates, screen their skills via assessment, provide feedback and level ranking based on their skills, match them to roles, upskill on the job, connect them to resources and the community to enhance their skills, and deliver consistent, quality work to clients. On the supply side, Gratia is developing a scalable platform-based analyst training program to democratize the playing field for analysts to gain jobs through assessment & apprenticeship, not pedigree.

As an analysts-as-a-service platform, Gratia provides on-demand, pre-vetted analysts to clients and value-added services to analysts via apprenticeships. Analysts as a service means we find high-potential candidates, screen their skills via assessment, provide feedback and level ranking based on their skills, match them to roles, upskill on the job, connect them to resources and the community to enhance their skills, and deliver consistent, quality work to clients.

Gratia’s secret sauce lies in upskilling and apprenticeships: 1) Upskilling through the Apprenticeship program increases retention and ensures delivery of high quality work and 2) Being an apprenticeship provider enables us to access grants and tax credits in both the US and other countries around the globe.
