Job Summary A leading North American financial services organization is seeking a CMS Solutions Architect & Lead Developer to support a large-scale digital transformation initiative. This role will serve as the primary technical lead and subject matter expert for enterprise CMS strategy, with a strong focus on architecting, implementing, and optimizing Contentful-based solutions across digital channels. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Contentful, modern API-driven architectures, and scalable cloud-native development practices. This individual will work closely with engineering, product, UX, and content teams to deliver secure, high-performing, and customer-centric digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities CMS Architecture & Governance
Design, architect, and oversee enterprise CMS platform implementations using Contentful Define technical roadmaps, standards, governance models, and development best practices Establish scalable and maintainable CMS frameworks across digital platforms
Solution Development & Implementation
Lead development and customization efforts across front-end and back-end CMS environments Ensure high standards for code quality, scalability, security, and maintainability Support API-first and microservices-based architectures for digital content delivery
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Provide architectural leadership and mentorship to development teams Partner closely with UX/UI, product, and content teams to deliver intuitive digital experiences Collaborate with stakeholders to align CMS capabilities with business and customer experience goals
Security, Compliance & Performance Optimization
Embed security best practices into CMS design and implementation Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards within a financial services environment Optimize system performance, content workflows, responsiveness, and overall user experience Lead ongoing enhancements, migrations, and scalability initiatives
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline Strong hands-on experience with Contentful CMS architecture and development Deep understanding of APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Experience leading enterprise-scale CMS implementations and modernization initiatives Strong understanding of front-end performance optimization and scalable application design Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications Professional certifications related to CMS platforms, cloud architecture, or enterprise application development Completion of, or willingness to complete, the Contentful development training series Previous experience within financial services or other highly regulated environments is considered an asset
