The opportunity: Reporting to the Maamwesying Ontario Health Team Operations Manager, the Executive Assistant provides critical administration, coordination, and project management support to assist in meeting strategic and organizational objectives, while maintaining operational performance and accountability requirements. This position is responsible for supporting the efficient organization, functioning and project support to the Maamwesying Ontario Health Team. What you need to bring with you: Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field. Minimum three (3) years of experience providing executive-level administrative support to senior leaders or directors. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Forms, and SharePoint. Experience coordinating virtual meetings and providing basic technical troubleshooting support. Experience maintaining SharePoint sites and managing electronic document filing systems. Experience supporting financial and administrative processes, including invoice tracking, expense reconciliation, procurement coordination, and financial documentation. Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Strong organizational, planning, time management, and critical thinking skills. Proven ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects within tight deadlines. Excellent judgment, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Experience coordinating meetings, events, travel arrangements, and logistics. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners. Experience with project coordination and tracking deliverables, timelines, and action items. Demonstrated interest in continuous improvement and identifying opportunities to enhance administrative and operational effectiveness. Ability to streamline workflows, improve processes, and support the implementation of new systems, tools, and ways of working. Openness to change and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities, organizational needs, and transformational initiatives. Self-directed with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and anticipate organizational needs Experience with information management systems. Demonstrated sensitivity to and knowledge of First Nation cultural values, traditions, and communities. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and unplanned overtime. Ability to travel as required. Valid Ontario driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle. Ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment. Ability to speak Ojibway is considered an asset. Experience in a healthcare, Indigenous, public sector, or not-for-profit environment is considered an asset. Why work with us? Our vision aptly describes how the Maamwesying North Shore Community Health Services Board oversees both N’Mninoeyaa Aboriginal Health Access Centre and the Baawaating Family Health Team to deliver quality primary and therapeutic health care to all individuals in its member communities as well as the urban aboriginal population residing in the City of Sault Ste. Marie. Our health board consists of three (3) First Nations Chief & Council members who also serve as the Executive Committee for Mamaweswen, the North Shore Tribal Council.

We provide services on an outreach and collaborative basis to eleven (11) First Nation communities and one (1) Indian Friendship Centre through our N’Mninoeyaa Health Access Centre. We also manage our own Family Health Clinic agency for our west end clients. Our First Nation communities include Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, Sagamok Anishnawbek, Serpent River First Nation, Mississauga First Nation, Thessalon First Nation, Garden River First Nation, Batchewana First Nation, Michipicoten First Nation, Chapleau Cree First Nation, Chapleau Ojibwe First Nation, and Brunswick House First Nation. Baawaating Family Health Clinic provides services primarily to our off Reserve population residing in Sault Ste. Marie as well as to non-Aboriginal local residents.
