We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Dietitian to join the Diabetes Clinic in Grand Prairie, supporting both specialty diabetes services and diabetes in pregnancy programs. In this dynamic role, you’ll be a valued member of an interprofessional team, using your expertise to provide comprehensive nutrition assessments and create individualized, evidence-based care plans for clients living with chronic disease. You will have the opportunity to build strong therapeutic relationships and support clients in achieving lasting, positive health outcomes. As a key liaison between Nutrition Services and Chronic Disease Management (CDM) programs, you will collaborate across teams to ensure seamless, coordinated care. Through nutrition counseling, behavior change strategies, and health promotion initiatives, you will empower clients to make informed, sustainable lifestyle changes. This role also offers the chance to share your knowledge and leadership by contributing to nutrition education and delivering training to staff and key stakeholders, helping ensure consistent, high-quality, evidence-informed care across programs. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description:
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients as a valued team member. Strong skills in client interviewing, counseling, education, and facilitating group interactions. Proven ability to take initiative, with a high level of accountability, excellent time management, sound decision-making, and strong organizational skills. Showcases an ongoing commitment to both professional growth and personal development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pursuit of or certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), along with experience in diabetes and diabetes in pregnancy, is preferred.
