1 Year Temporary Contract - Full Time Starting September 2026

The Job Reporting to the Senior Lead Professional Standards, the successful incumbent will be responsible to provide strategic and clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of affirming services to the 2sLGBTQ+ community. Operating within an Anti-Racist, Anti-Oppressive (ARAO) and trauma-informed framework, this role bridges organizational strategy and frontline practice. The incumbent is responsible for implementing the Equity Workplan, overseeing the Affirming Services Consultation Panel, and ensuring that SOGIE-affirming practices are integrated across all Service Teams.

Qualifications  

  • A Bachelor of Social Work or Masters of Social Work degree is preferred or having status as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Self-identifying as a member of the 2sLGBTQ+ community with lived experience of relevant issues in Canada is a highly desired asset.
  • Minimum 3 years in Child Welfare or Child & Youth Mental Health with a focus on supporting 2sLGBTQ+ communities.
  • Leadership experience, particularly in the provision and/or development of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity & Expression-Affirming Services.
  • Management experience is a highly desired asset.
  • Working understanding of sexual orientation, gender identity & expression-affirming supports, services and community organizations available to children, youth and families.
  • Deep understanding of intersectional oppression, colonialism, and the impact of the child welfare and child & youth mental health systems on equity-deserving groups.
  • Demonstrated understanding of provision of affirming services to members of the 2sLGBTQ+ community from an intersectional approach that is trauma-informed, healing-centered and identity-affirming. 
  • A thorough knowledge of equity-based & identity-affirming clinical skill requirements, case management and therapeutic interventions as well as applicable Ministry Standards and Legislation.

 

  • Sound knowledge of the impact and risk of social issues in child welfare & child and youth mental health and understanding of current relevant theories and best practices. Sound knowledge of clinical theories and best practices that are equity centered.
  • A sound understanding of Child Welfare & Child & Youth Mental Health sector commitments/initiatives towards the building of affirming supports and services for the 2sLGBTQ+ community.
  • An understanding of adult learning, coaching and mentorship principles.
  • Demonstrated understanding and aptitude for project management and change management.
  • A valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle with appropriate insurance to transport clients are required.

Compensation The salary range is $87,997 to $120,073 commensurate with experience, with a generous benefits package, vacation and leave provisions.
