We're hiring an Educational Coordinator to bring our Toronto rooftop gardens to life for the people who visit them. About the role Reporting to Toronto's Chief Urban Farmer, you'll design and deliver hands-on educational programming across our GTHA network — workshops, tours, tastings, and pop-up learning sessions for building tenants, community groups, and school partners. You'll be the warm, knowledgeable face that connects people to their food, their green space, and each other. You'll also roll up your sleeves alongside the farming team when they need an extra set of hands, and help keep the operation humming behind the scenes by stewarding our warehouse space and inventory. What you'll do 🌿 Educate & engage Design and lead on-site workshops, tours, and learning sessions at rooftop gardens across the GTHA Adapt content for diverse audiences — tenants, community groups, school kids, corporate teams Prepare teaching materials, activity kits, and take-home resources Create a welcoming, inclusive learning environment on every visit 📅 Coordinate & communicate Schedule programming with building partners and clients across the GTHA Serve as a responsive point of contact for participant questions and client requests Represent MicroHabitat's brand and mission in every interaction 🌱 Support the farms Support urban farming maintenance as needed — planting, harvesting, watering, and general upkeep alongside the farming team Pitch in on busy install and harvest days to keep sites thriving 📦 Keep things running Maintain the warehouse space — clean, organized, and season-ready Track educational activity inventory and corporate gift stock Support the wider farming team with logistics as needed 📊 Measure & improve Track program outcomes and gather participant feedback Recommend improvements to grow the reach and impact of our educational work What you bring Confident public speaker and communicator in both formal and informal settings Genuine passion for urban agriculture, sustainability, and community-building Comfortable getting hands-on in the garden and supporting farming operations when needed Strong customer-service instincts — patient, warm, and responsive Solid organizational skills and sharp attention to detail Post-secondary education in education, environmental studies, social sciences, or a related field preferred Experience delivering sustainability or urban agriculture programming is a strong asset Comfortable working on-site across the GTHA, including occasional evenings or weekends Deep commitment to inclusivity, environmental stewardship, and community engagement The details Reports to: Chief Urban Farmer Compensation: $23 / hour Schedule: 8 AM – 5 PM, on-site Start date: As soon as possible End date: October 30, 2026 Location: Toronto — on-site across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area Ready to help cities grow?
