Position Overview

This is a temporary part-time position (approximately 4?6 months) covering a driver leave of absence.

Border Steel Ltd. is seeking a reliable and safety-focused DZ Truck Driver to support our supply chain and logistics operations. The successful candidate will complete local deliveries within Windsor and surrounding areas, with occasional deliveries to the GTA.

Schedule requirements are approximately 4?8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions

Requirements:

• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations (securing procedures, weight and size restriction)
• Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment
• Clean driver?s abstract and CVOR

*Education & Experience *

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of Flatbed commercial driving experience
• Valid DZ License
• Ability to submit updated driver's abstract
• Manual operations

Working Conditions

• Shop environment with exposure to noise, sparks, grinding debris, and moving equipment.
• Regular lifting, bending, kneeling, sitting and standing for extended periods.
• Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have an attention for detail to ensure tight deadlines are met.
