About the role
As a key member of the Stanley Park Pavilion banquet team, the Banquet Server plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest and food service during weddings and corporate events. Responsibilities include event setup and teardown, plated and buffet-style meal service, and wine service.
Banquet Servers ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, adhere to proper food handling procedures, and efficiently clear tables. Additional duties include following opening and closing procedures while creating a seamless and memorable experience for guests.
Responsibilities Deliver exceptional guest service by providing product knowledge, beverage recommendations, and insights about the local area Support event operations including setup and teardown of banquet spaces, ceremony areas, and side lawn events Execute table service duties such as setting tables, serving food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth service and address guest needs or concerns Promote a safe and professional work environment by following food safety protocols, health and safety procedures, and dress code standards Collaborate across departments to foster a positive, team-oriented atmosphere and support Capilano Group initiatives Maintain awareness of company offerings and actively promote attractions during events Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to overall operational success Qualifications Minimum one-year prior banquet serving experience Must have current Serving It Right certification Must have excellent people skills with a positive & upbeat personality Previous experience in the food service industry is considered an asset Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills Previous experience with cashier and/or POS considered an asset Professionally groomed appearance Why Join Us? Shifts may extend to 1am or occasionally 2–3am, depending on the event. Candidates must be able to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 30lbs, use step stools or ladders, and work indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. The right candidate is expected to be able to work well in a team setting, communicate effectively with guests and other team members, and be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
This position starts at $18.25 per hour.

All of the organization’s marketing, administrative and financial activities are conducted from its headquarters at the Suspension Bridge location.
