About the role
The Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as Athletic Therapist / Equipment Manager for the 2026–2027 AJHL season. This is an exciting opportunity to join a proud AJHL organization committed to player development, performance excellence, and creating a first-class junior hockey experience. This is a demanding dual-role position best suited for an individual who is highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a team environment. this is a 9 month seasonal position that could turn into a full time position.
Key Responsibilities
Athletic Therapy Duties
- Provide injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for players
- Manage on-ice and off-ice medical coverage during practices and games
- Collaborate closely with the team physiotherapist and other medical professionals.
- Develop and implement player treatment and recovery plans
- Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals as needed
- Maintain accurate medical records and injury reports
- Oversee taping, bracing, and pre/post-game player preparation
- Ensure compliance with AJHL safety and medical protocols
Equipment Management Duties
- Maintain, repair, and organize all team equipment (skates, helmets, protective gear, etc.)
- Oversee laundry services, equipment drying, and dressing room setup/teardown for practices and games
- Manage inventory, ordering, and budgeting of equipment supplies
- Ensure proper fitting and safety standards for all issued equipment
- Prepare locker rooms for home and visiting teams as required
- Coordinate equipment logistics for travel (packing, transport, setup)
Qualifications
- Certification in Athletic Therapy (CATA certification preferred) or equivalent experience
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (required)
- Previous experience working with a hockey team is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of hockey equipment maintenance and repair
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Frequent travel required throughout the AJHL season
- Irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Compensation

Compensation package to be discussed with shortlisted candidates based on certification, experience, and scope of responsibilities. Travel expenses covered per team policy
