Controls Transformation Program Consultant
About the role
Description
Support the lead of Controls Transformation Program as an extension of the office — running controls and risk assessments, partnering with consulting/automation vendors on proof-of-concepts, documenting enterprise-wide initiatives, and developing recommendations for policy changes and a controls-automation roadmap. You'll prioritize a large universe of controls, build prioritization frameworks, and frame findings into executive-ready materials. You operate independently, deliver on time with quality, and can represent the program in front of directors.
Support the business sponsor delegate in executing assessments, collaborating with consulting firms on proof of concept implementations, analyzing work-in-progress across the enterprise, and developing recommendations for policy changes and controls automation roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct assessments of current controls and risk management processes
Work with consulting partners to implement and evaluate proof of concepts
Analyze and document other enterprise-wide transformation initiatives
Complete risk assessments as required
Develop recommendations for policy enhancements and controls automation
Prepare clear reports and presentations for stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
Deep knowledge of internal controls, risk frameworks, and compliance
Experience in completing risk assessments and technology intakes.
Hands-on experience with controls automation tools and process improvement
Experience in consulting and delivering transformation projects
Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business units
High integrity, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving abilities
Execute with urgency and quality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise
Controls & Risk Management: Strong understanding of internal controls, risk frameworks (e.g., COSO, SOX), and compliance requirements.
Automation & Technology: Experience with controls automation tools (such as GRC platforms, RPA, data analytics).
Process Improvement: Proven ability to analyze, redesign, and optimize business processes.
Consulting & Implementation Experience
Proof of Concept Delivery: Experience working with consulting firms and implementing POCs (Proof of Concept) for controls solutions.
Change Management: Skilled in managing organizational change, stakeholder engagement, and communication.
Strategic Thinking
Policy Development: Ability to analyze current policies, identify gaps, and draft actionable recommendations.
Roadmap Design: Experience in developing strategic roadmaps for controls automation and transformation.
Enterprise Perspective
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to understand and coordinate with multiple business units and functions.
Awareness of Enterprise Initiatives: Familiarity with large-scale transformation programs and work-in-progress across the enterprise.
Analytical & Communication Skills
Assessment & Reporting: Strong analytical skills for assessments, data analysis, and reporting findings.
Clear Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing recommendations, executive summaries, and presentations.
