Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

Department / Research Program: Women’s Health Research Unit

Under the supervision of Dr. Lucy Gilbert, the infusion nurse is responsible for administering and adjusting treatments and medications to research cancer patients while ensuring the successful conduct of clinical research studies of the Women’s Health Research Unit.

General Duties

Acts as a resource person to assist in the care of the research patient requiring complex care, Administers chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments to oncology research patients, Infuses blood products when necessary, Evaluates the health status of oncology research patients, Determines if research patient can continue their treatments, Works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure proper care and oversight to the research patient and their families in clinical research trials, Provides appropriate resources to patients, Ensures proper research documentation.

Education / Experience

Education: Diplome of College Studies (DEC)

Field of Study: Nursing

Work Experience: Minimum 2 years

Professional Membership: ☒ Yes: OIIQ

Required Skills

Knowledge of French is required. An intermediate knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular contact, as well as processing specific information, with patients who are exclusively proficient in English. Experience with chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

Work Site: Glen Site, 1001 Decarie Blvd.
