CHILD & YOUTHCARE WORKER

Don Ross Middle School
Temporary**:** Immediatelyto December 17, 2027**, or return of Incumbent, whichever occurs first**
Hours: 6.5****hours per day, for all days school is in session for students
Rate of Pay: $33.04/hour
Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Director of Instruction: Learning Services (with a functional reporting relationship with school principals), provides guidance, ongoing assistance, encouragement and support to vulnerable students in developing and achieving positive behaviour supports, personal and life skill goals through accessing approved district and community programs. Assignment will be to support students primarily with their emotional needs and to make connections and collaborate with families and community agencies in order to provide further support for the students. Outdoor education, alcohol/drug counselling, family support training, and youth support training are definite assets.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Grade 12, a two-year certificate in Child and Youth Care and over 6 months up to and including one year experience
- Knowledge of basic First Aid
- Valid B.C. driver's license
