Location
This position is required to work in person at various pools across the City. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.
Position Overview
The City of Burlington is looking for certified Aquafit Instructors that love fitness, motivating people and are committed to delivering high quality, safe and enjoyable classes for all levels of participants. This position is a part-time position with a flexible schedule based on programming needs. Hours of work may include morning, afternoon, evening and/or weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
Aquafit Instructors are responsible for:
- Delivering deep and/or shallow fitness classes from the pool deck
- Choreographing fitness routines to music
- Modifying and adapting programs to suit various fitness levels
Requirements
The successful candidates will have:
- One of the following certifications: Current CALA, WaterArt, YMCA, AQX or equivalent from an accredited organization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for fitness
- The ability to inspire and motivate others
Preference will be given to applicants with previous fitness instructing experience. This posting is for current and future opportunities and will be filled on an as needed basis. Applications will be considered for any openings that become available between now and June 22, 2026.

This position requires the successful candidate to provide a clear criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening at their own expense.
