Course Number and Name: DMU411H1/MUS3630H  Interactive Music & Sound for Video Games I   Course Description: This course explores the unique world of interactive music and sound in games. Students learn how to ideate, iterate and integrate audio within the popular game engine Unity. Students work on a cross-discipline video game development project in collaboration with students specializing in computer science and animation/design.   Class Schedule: Tuesdays 9-11am in the Fall term   Months of contract: September to December 2026   Salary: $9,997.48   Estimated Course Enrollment: 30   TA support: none                                                                                        Qualifications: Degree in music composition or related field. Extensive professional experience in sound design for audiovisual media, including music and sound for video games. Expert knowledge of relevant current software, including familiarity with audio asset implementation and in-game audio engines such as Unity and Wwise. College/university teaching experience desirable.   Duties: Define course objectives; prepare course materials; provide clear guidelines on course requirements and regulations; teach classes as scheduled; administer and evaluate student assignments; prepare and submit final grades in accordance with policy. This course involves a collaboration with students in video game development in the Department of Computer Science, and an integral part of the course is to support music students in this collaboration.
