Hiring Company : Major Drilling Group International Inc.

Position : Diamond Driller Operator

Start Date : June 14th, 2026

Job Type: Seasonal Full-time, 10 months per year/ 10 available positions.

Job Description: Do you want to work for one of the largest drilling companies internationally, supplying services to the mining and geological exploration industries?

Primary responsibilities include :

  • Ensure rig is setup efficiently and safely to company standards and client specifications i.e., angle, azimuth, hole size.

  • Accurately and efficiently provide client with core/sample, ensuring core/sample meets client specifications.

  • Consistently pursue performance and high-quality work by executing tasks effectively in a manner that will not endanger self or others, or the environment.

  • Perform assigned duties following all applicable legislation, company policies and safe work procedures.

  • Positively influence activities of a safe, productive, and cost-efficient diamond drill operation.

  • Ensure that all equipment is kept in order as stipulated in the Preventative Maintenance Manual, while maintaining efficient drilling productivity.

  • Drive mobile equipment (muskeg, snowmobile, truck etc.) in accordance with internal/external policies, rules, and directives. Supervise Driller Assistant’s daily activities, contributing to their development and performance, acting as a coach in all areas (HSEC, Operations, etc.).

Qualifications/Education :

  • 1-2 years of diamond drilling experience considered an asset.

  • Common Core modules considered an asset

  • Tolerance for stress, with ability to work under pressure and handle antagonism.

  • Excellent communication and mathematical skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment, while working together to meet organizational goals.

  • Operate with little supervision.

  • Able to work long hours and shift work for extended periods (10-12 hrs/day, alternating days and nights, camp setting, rotations).

  • Physically fit, capable of heavy lifting and repetitive tasks.

  • Valid driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with underground long hole and Surface and Underground exploration drills and mining equipment (Preferred)

  • Able to work with limited supervision

  • Able to travel, work long hours & shift work for extended periods (camp setting)

  • Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions. Problem Solving - Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.

Applicants must also possess a work history that highlights the following combination of skills and experience: On-the-job training is provided. Previous experience in the diamond drill industry is an asset. Preferred candidates will be self-motivated, strong communication and problem-solving skills, well-organized, works well with others and is interested in making a change.

Wages : $34.00 - $45.00

Location of Work: Applicants will be employed in one of the locations listed below and may be required to work in several different locations.
