Hybrid Work Arrangement

This position follows a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 2 days onsite, though this requirement may vary based on business and operational needs.
Primary Focus
We are seeking to fill a current opening on our Health Technology and Systems team. As a Clinical Research Assistant, you will provide specialized, highly technical support in the preparation of evidence-based reviews of various pharmaceuticals and/or health technologies to help ensure that Canada’s Drug Agency reports are completed efficiently and meet deliverable and/or milestone timelines.
What do the daily responsibilities look like?
On any given day, the Clinical Research Assistant will:
- conduct research by performing preliminary screening and article selection from literature searches, extracting data from studies to be included in reports, and preparing and presenting research findings to internal teams and external committees
- provide support to internal teams and external committees and ensure that review information is appropriately captured in meeting minutes and follow-up action items
- contribute to drafting and revising reports and protocols, including drafting supplemental issues; you will review draft reports, edit and proofread content, and prepare and review tables to ensure the accuracy of data
- work with senior team members to refine topics and research questions, create surveys, or contact clients to obtain clarification on research questions
- provide comments to the project leader if gaps or questions arise and communicate regularly with the internal team, customers, and partners.
Is this the right role for you?
The Clinical Research Assistant will likely have:
- an undergraduate degree plus related experience in a health research environment writing or preparing reports and briefing notes; preference will be given to candidates with a graduate degree in a health-related discipline (e.g., epidemiology, health technology assessment, pharmacy)
- general statistics knowledge
- a good understanding of the health care system in Canada at the federal, provincial, and territorial levels
- an understanding of medical and scientific language, and a commitment to developing knowledge of systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and related topics
- a familiarity with research data to drive and support decisions
- analytical strength, with the ability to translate data into action
- the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and several projects simultaneously
- a comfort level with giving and receiving balanced feedback
- the ability to work with little direction but seek help when needed.
