We're looking for an experienced VMware Engineer to manage and maintain virtual infrastructure in Ottawa. The ideal candidate brings strong vSphere expertise, a solid understanding of networking and storage, and holds or is eligible for a Secret security clearance.

What You'll Do

Create and manage virtual machines using VMware vSphere and related tools Install, configure, and maintain VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter Server Optimize server utilization through workload consolidation Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability Implement backup and recovery solutions including snapshots and replication Set up and maintain disaster recovery strategies using tools such as VMware SRM Configure virtual networking including vSwitches and VLANs Manage storage including SAN/NAS integration and datastores Apply security patches, enforce access controls, and ensure systems meet compliance and governance standards

What You Bring

Strong hands-on knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP and VLANs Experience with storage systems including SAN and NAS Experience with backup tools and disaster recovery planning and execution Active Secret security clearance or eligibility to obtain one

Nice to have

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or VMware Cloud Scripting skills using PowerCLI or Python for infrastructure automation
