Middle Office Operations Analyst – Equities (Contract) Location: Hybrid – Toronto, ON Duration: August 2026 – August 2027 (12-month contract) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (candidate must be flexible to work either shift; majority of work will be 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

About the Opportunity Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Middle Office Operations Analyst to join its Institutional Equities Operations Team within Capital Markets. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong middle office background in equities to support critical trade lifecycle functions, risk mitigation activities, and operational controls within a fast-paced trading environment. The successful candidate will work closely with Front Office, clients, custodians, and clearing/depository platforms while contributing to process improvements and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Provide middle office trade support across allocation, reconciliation, and inventory balancing functions. Ensure accurate trade capture, matching, and settlement readiness for equities and derivatives transactions. Act as a key operational control point between Front Office, clients, custodians, and clearing/depository platforms. Perform block trade and step-out allocations across client and internal accounts. Monitor and resolve trade matching exceptions through CTM and other matching platforms. Investigate and resolve breaks, fails, DKs, unmatched and unaffirmed trades. Validate trade economics against OMS and street-side records. Support T+1 allocation and affirmation compliance requirements. Mitigate operational, settlement, and capital-related risks. Participate in process improvement initiatives and strategic operational projects. Maintain strong controls and adherence to regulatory and internal policies. Utilize Excel and VBA tools to analyze, automate, and support operational processes. Must-Have Skills & Experience 3+ years of Middle Office Operations experience 3+ years of Capital Markets experience with a focus on Equities Experience with Books and Records and trade processing platforms such as: Sophis Fidessa CTM CDS DTC Similar trade lifecycle and inventory management systems Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including: Pivot Tables VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP Data Analysis VBA development and maintenance Strong understanding of: Trade lifecycle management Settlement processes Trade allocations Reconciliations T+1 settlement requirements Risk and control frameworks Preferred Qualifications University or College Degree in a STEM-related discipline. Completion of CSI courses related to Equities or Capital Markets. Experience contributing to business process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives. Business Analysis experience (3+ years preferred). Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have a strong middle office background within the equities business and be comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. They possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
