Social Worker - Holocaust Survivor Services (Russian Speaking) 12 month contract
About the role
Key Responsibilities

Provide assessment, case management, crisis intervention and supportive counselling to Holocaust survivors and their families using trauma-informed care and geriatric social worker practices

Assess changing client needs and develop tailored interventions.

Assist clients in accessing government programs, healthcare and community services

Develop case plans and assist in applying for restitution claims, working with relevant agencies like the Claims Conference.

Conduct intake assessments, eligibility interviews and program applications

Maintain knowledge of specialized services for Holocaust survivors, including HSEAP, Restitution programs, and Café Europa.

Collaborate with community partners to ensure seamless service delivery.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with the Agency and Claims Conference guidelines.

Assist in mentoring and support cross-organizational efforts.

Advocate for client access to services and represent the Agency's mission and values.

Participate in research and evaluation programs related to Holocaust Survivor services.

Perform other duties as assigned
What You Will Bring:

Masters of Social Work (MSW) or Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or equivalent required.

Minimum 3 years of experience working with seniors and their families.

OCSWSSW membership in good standing.

Experience with trauma survivors, especially Holocaust survivors, preferred.

Knowledge of Jewish history, culture, and community resources is a strong asset.

Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.

Fluency in Russian is required; Hebrew, Polish, or Yiddish is an asset.
