Role Description CONTRACT WELDERS (by-hand) required in Acheson, AB. Welders will perform fabrication and repair work on equipment and components used in vapor recovery and emissions control systems, following drawings, specifications, and welding procedures. Daily tasks include preparing materials, setting up welding equipment, executing welds to quality standards, and inspecting completed work for accuracy and structural integrity. The role involves working with shop and field teams to meet project timelines, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and adhering to all safety policies and regulations. The Welder may also assist with fitting, basic layout, and occasional troubleshooting of welded assemblies to support reliable operation of company products. Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong foundational Welding skills, including experience with structural and fabrication welding in industrial or energy-sector environments. Candidates should possess welding experience CWB SMAW, FCAW, B Pressure Stick, Arc Welding, MIG, and TIG skills and be able to follow appropriate processes based on materials and project requirements. Candidates should possess knowledge of Materials, including properties of common metals, appropriate filler materials, and basic metallurgy related to weld quality. Candidates should possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols, and follow written procedures and quality standards. Candidates should possess a commitment to safety, including familiarity with shop safety practices, PPE use, and safe handling of welding equipment. Candidates should possess good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, lifting, and working in varying conditions. Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship in welding, and current welding tickets (e.g., CWB or equivalent) are required; experience in energy services is an asset. Candidates should possess strong teamwork and communication skills, reliability, and the ability to follow supervisory direction and meet project deadlines.
