Procurement Specialist (Sourcing) | Hybrid | Oakville, ON Are you an experienced procurement professional with strong sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management skills? We're looking for 2 Procurement Specialists to join a leading organization on a long-term contract basis. 📍 Location: Hybrid (Tues-Thurs onsite) 🏢 Worksite: Oakville, ON 🕒 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week 📅 Start Date: ASAP 📅 Contract Duration: Until January 21, 2027 💲 Pay Rate: $39.88/hour + 4% vacation pay This is for a current opening. Our recruitment process for this role includes the use of AI-based tools to help evaluate candidate qualifications and screen applications.
What You'll Do As a Procurement Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring the organization has the materials, equipment, and services needed to operate efficiently. You'll be responsible for managing the procurement lifecycle from sourcing and purchasing through order tracking and supplier performance management. Key Responsibilities: ✅ Source and purchase goods and services within budget guidelines ✅ Compare supplier pricing and evaluate vendor proposals ✅ Negotiate costs, shipping arrangements, and delivery schedules ✅ Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders ✅ Track orders, acknowledgements, lead times, and delivery dates ✅ Communicate shortages, backorders, and supply risks to stakeholders ✅ Review and maintain procurement records and inventory data ✅ Validate invoices and support accounts payable processes ✅ Monitor supplier performance and contract compliance ✅ Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize purchasing activities ✅ Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving opportunities What We're Looking For ✔ Experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain functions ✔ Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills ✔ Experience managing purchase orders and procurement documentation ✔ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills ✔ Proficiency with ERP/procurement systems and Microsoft Office ✔ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Nice to Have ➕ Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field ➕ SCMP, CPSM, or other procurement certifications ➕ Experience in a corporate, manufacturing, or industrial environment Why Apply? ✨ Competitive hourly rate ✨ Hybrid work environment ✨ Work with a collaborative and professional team ✨ Opportunity to make a direct impact on procurement operations 📩 Interested?
