About the role

The Opportunity

Company, Department: Emera Energy, Corporate Commercial Location: Halifax, NS Closing Date: July 8, 2026 We are currently seeking a Co-op, Commercial Services student for the Fall 2026 term (September 7 – December 18) within our Corporate Commercial team. This 16-week opportunity offers hands-on experience supporting Emera Energy’s Natural Gas trading operations, focusing on pipeline activity, validating key trading data, navigating pipeline platforms and databases, and monitoring rate movements to help achieve the team’s commercial objectives. What you’ll do: As a Co-op student, we'll treat you as one of our own as you support the Commercial Services team in day-to-day operations and data processes, including: Monitor pipeline notifications and rate changes across multiple platforms Prepare and review pipeline rates for data entry, validation, and circulation Compile and validate summary data related to pipeline activity and customer usage for invoicing Enter and maintain accurate trading and operational data within internal systems Assist in processing documentation and automation Provide general support to the Corporate Commercial team as needed By the end of your work-term, you will have: Developed a fundamental understanding of the natural gas trading industry, including pipeline operations and tariffs Gained hands-on experience working with commercial data Strengthened your Excel and data management skills in a fast-paced business environment Enhanced your internal customer service and communication skills through cross-functional collaboration Who you are: You’re a detail-oriented and motivated student in your 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, IT, or Analytics, with an interest in commercial operations or energy markets.
