Job Summary We are seeking an experienced IT Business Consultant / Business Systems Analyst to support technology initiatives within a Capital Markets Securitization portfolio. The consultant will help maintain delivery continuity across active and upcoming initiatives involving securitization platforms, operational reporting, application upgrades, user administration, production support, and business process management. The ideal candidate combines strong Capital Markets domain expertise—particularly Securitization, Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS), Fixed Income, Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), or Whole Loans—with hands-on technical capabilities in SQL/Oracle, data analysis, requirements gathering, solution design, and production support. This role requires close collaboration with Front Office, Finance, Market Risk, Middle Office, Back Office, and technology teams to translate complex business needs into practical technology solutions. Key Responsibilities Partner with Front Office, Finance, Market Risk, Middle Office, Back Office, and Technology stakeholders. Gather, clarify, analyze, and translate business requirements into reporting, application, and system functionality. Elicit and document business requirements, functional requirements, risks, dependencies, and priorities. Perform current-state, target-state, gap, and impact analyses. Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements and actionable solution recommendations. Review proposed solution designs and confirm alignment with business requirements. Support project planning, solution design, implementation, and testing activities. Define and validate testing approaches to ensure solutions satisfy documented requirements. Investigate production issues, file errors, and data-related problems and coordinate or implement appropriate fixes. Work with downstream teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain delivery continuity. Support securitization applications and related operational processes, including reporting, user administration, production support, upgrades, and attestations. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and obtain alignment and buy-in on feasible solutions. Core Technical Skills Required 5+ years of experience as an IT Business Consultant, Business Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or similar role. Strong Capital Markets experience within an IT or business environment. Demonstrated knowledge of one or more of: Securitization Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) Fixed Income Mortgage / Whole Loan products Strong understanding of requirements gathering, requirements analysis, and solution/design methodologies. Hands-on expertise with SQL and Oracle databases. Ability to create and query database tables, write complex SQL, investigate data issues, and optimize queries. Knowledge of data modeling, data design, static/reference data, and data repositories. Experience reviewing and contributing to solution designs and supporting project planning. Experience performing gap analysis, impact analysis, current-state analysis, and target-state analysis. Experience supporting production applications, including investigating and resolving production or file-related errors. Hands-on experience working with securitization tools/applications. Ability to work effectively across business and technology teams in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience supporting Front Office and Capital Markets technology environments. Experience working with Finance, Market Risk, Middle Office, Back Office, and downstream operational teams. Experience with operational reporting, application upgrades, user administration, and L1 production support. Retail mortgage experience combined with demonstrated success in a fast-paced technology or business environment. Experience with testing, validation, and ensuring technology solutions meet documented business requirements. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline. Nice to Have Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) experience. U.S. Whole Loans experience within Capital Markets. Broader mortgage securitization or structured products experience. Soft Skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Able to investigate complex business, technical, data, and production issues. Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities. Confident communicator who can translate complex technical concepts into clear business language. Proactive, curious, and comfortable engaging across multiple projects, systems, and stakeholder groups. Able to prioritize effectively and pivot quickly as business needs change. Demonstrated reliability and commitment through meaningful tenure and ownership in previous roles.
