Procurement Assistant to provincial government agency client, North York.

Marberg Job Number: 2782. Job Type: Temporary. Initial Term: ASAP to March 31, 2027, with possible extension. Vacancy: Temporary backfill covering secondment. Compensation: $28 per hour. Regular Work Hours: 7.25 hours per day not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week). Work Location: 100% onsite at client's North York office, near TTC station. Position Reports To: Procurement Manager.

Responsibilities Summary: Procurement Assistant for three months backfill assignment to provide administrative and procurement support to the Procurement team. Ideal role for someone who is detail oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast -paced environment with competing priorities. Respond to routine external inquiries, ensuring internal team consultation as needed. Assist with identification, determination and resolution of any issues. Contact suppliers to request and obtain quotations. Prepare purchase orders, requisitions, and related forms, ensuring documentation is complete, authorized, and properly processed through the sign-off workflow. Maintain procurement files, records, documents, and reference materials to ensure accuracy, organization, and compliance. Order routine and stock office supplies. Additional procurement operations support responsibilities as required.

Qualifications: Education: Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Administration or similar discipline. Preferred Work Experience: Approximately 2+ years of related experience supporting a business operations and/or in-house procurement team. Preferred Sector Experience: Public sector procurement experience an asset.

Technical and Language Skills Requirements: Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams (will be tested). Demonstrated excellent data entry skills and attention to detail (will be tested). Knowledge of Accounts Payable principles and best practices (will be tested). Demonstrated familiarity with MS Dynamics 365 (D365) ERP applications and Internet research tools, to prepare procurement documents and forms. Strong English written and reading comprehension skills including satisfactory business writing skills, spelling, grammar, proofreading and syntax (will be tested). Strong English conversational skills and professional telephone manners.

Task -Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes: Demonstrated attention to detail, with excellent proofreading skills to verify the accuracy of procurement documents and requisitions. Effective organizational, administrative, and time management- skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines. Punctual, responsible, and reliable. Demonstrated record of professional conduct and character. Focused and able to work effectively with minimal direction and supervision, to prioritize tasks effectively, and to manage volume targets and due dates. Pleasant and courteous. Demonstrated commitment to client service and professional representation of the organization. Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy. Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, and in an advisory capacity, and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Requirements: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request. Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies. Ability to promptly provide minimum of 2 qualified employment references at point of client interview who are available to speak with either Marberg or Marberg's client. Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start. Additional satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, Interpersonal Skills Assessment and Employment References as required.
