We are currently seeking a Divisional Program Technician to join our Faculty of Trades and Technology team.

Job Overview

Reporting to Divisional Business Manager, this position is responsible for providing support and assistance to students and faculty in various Design programs including providing demonstrations, monitoring shop work safety, maintaining inventory and repairs of tools, and equipment and preparing materials for learning.

Education And Experience

Completion of a vocational trades program or related credential and five years related experience, preferably supporting vocational trades training programs. Experience in monitoring student activity in a shop environment, ensuring the safe handling of materials, tools and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Demonstrated experience troubleshooting hand tools and small machines. Experience with computer software applications. Competence in the following software: MS Office, MS Excel, Outlook. Extensive demonstrated experience with the safe use of machinery applicable to the trades. Demonstrated knowledge of WHMIS and WCB safe work procedures for the trades. Demonstrated working knowledge of the operation and routine maintenance of machine tools. Proven ability to organize work, multi-task and work to deadlines. Proven ability to deal effectively with others and to handle unusual or unexpected situations, including the ability to deal with hostile or upset clients.

Salary Information

Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
