Job Description:

Note: These are vacancies for part-time Faculty positions (up to 6 hours per week) starting September 8, 2026 and ending December 11, 2026. Expected teaching day(s) to occur between Monday to Friday.

Note: These positions are located at 1001 Fanshawe College Blvd, London, ON N5Y 5R6.

Fanshawe College is seeking experienced law enforcement professionals to join our team as part-time Professors in the School of Public Safety.

Why This Role Is Important

Reporting to the Program Manager, part-time Professors at Fanshawe College are responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective learning environment for students. In this role, you’ll bring your real-world experience into the classroom, delivering engaging, practical learning experiences and supporting student success in a dynamic post-secondary environment. Availability for in-person on campus delivery is required for most courses, and successful candidates will be required to perform work within Ontario.

We require qualified faculty to teach across the following areas:

  • Protection, Security and Investigation (PSI) program
  • Police Foundations (PFT) program

What You'll Bring

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field of study
  • A Master’s degree in a related field and/or a Bachelor of Education or Master of Education is considered an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working for the Canada Border Services Agency
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent (within the last two years) experience in the field of law enforcement, such as policing, corrections, customs, municipal by-law enforcement, MTO enforcement, and/or security practices
  • Valid license to work as a security guard and/or private investigator in Ontario is considered an asset
  • Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery preferred
  • Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience, and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are considered assets
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the challenges faced by diverse student groups is considered an asset
  • Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
  • Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies
