About the role

Join the CSP Data Governance team and contribute to the implementation and acceleration of data governance practices across the organization. This internship offers a unique opportunity to evolve in an environment that combines organizational transformation, data structuring, and cross-functional collaboration.
This internship will involve supporting data governance initiatives, with a focus on structuring initial data domains, collaborating with business stakeholders, and using data cataloging and governance tools.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $18-32/hour. This role is an existing vacancy.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Supporting the implementation of data governance

  • Contribute to the progressive implementation of data governance practices for the initial targeted domains.

  • Participate in working sessions with Data Owners, managers, and Data Stewards to support the definition of roles, responsibilities, and processes.

  • Help structure and document governance elements: glossaries, data definitions, classifications, quality rules, and metadata.

Contribution to cataloging and documentation activities

  • Participate in the use and enrichment of data cataloging and governance tools (Collibra, DataGalaxy, or equivalent).
  • Contribute to the organization and documentation of data assets to facilitate understanding and reuse.
  • Support documentation activities related to governance processes and best practices.

Collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with business, IT, data, and architecture teams to understand data-related needs and challenges.
  • Participate in identifying opportunities to improve governance and data management practices.
  • Contribute to the preparation of communication and awareness materials related to data governance.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • University student in information systems, business intelligence, data management, computer science, analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in data governance, metadata management, and data quality.
  • Knowledge of or interest in data cataloging and governance tools such as:

o Collibra

o DataGalaxy

o or equivalent tools

  • Ability to structure, document, and organize information rigorously.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Initiative, autonomy, and curiosity regarding data and organizational transformation challenges.

Additional Assets

  • Knowledge of concepts such as:

o Data Owner

o Data Steward

o Business Glossary

o Data Quality

o Metadata

  • Academic or personal experience related to data, analytics, or governance.

  • Familiarity with cloud environments or modern data platforms.

  • Fluency in French, written & spoken.
