Description: Counsellor - Secondary, Grades 7-12

Location: Fernie Secondary School, Fernie, BC

Contract Type: Part-time Temporary (0.143 FTE)

Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $10,066 to $17,043, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay).

-Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification.
-Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to each posting.

Job Summary:

Counsellor - Secondary, Grades 7-12

0.143 FTE temporary contract, starting September 8, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to December 18, 2026, or return of the incumbent.

Must have a Master's Degree recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch in Counselling, Psychology in Counselling or Psychology. Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the Secondary School level. Must have training and or experience in trauma informed practice.

This position is tentatively scheduled for Mondays and Fridays. Please note that all work will be on site.
