Location: North Vancouver, BC

Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As a Senior Colourist, you have a role in shaping the future of Arc’teryx product offerings. In this role, you will collaborate with Raw Materials, Design and Colour Design to push the boundaries of applying colour on textiles. You will partner proactively with internal and external partners to solve colour issues related to dyeing techniques, feasibility, colourfastness, and sustainability. Your innovative approach will drive the continuous evolution of our colour operations processes and will help solve for present and future needs of the brand.

This is a temporary, full time role with an expected end date of December 2026. This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to a hybrid work schedule, as the work allows.

If you were the Senior Colourist - Temporary now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Staying abreast of colour quality industry, including digital tools, dyeing technology, testing methods and more sustainable options

  • Finding achievable solutions to problems related to colour feasibility, metamerism, colourfastness and shade

  • Collaborating with internal partners including Colour Design, Design, Raw Materials and Advanced Concepts to drive colour innovation at Arc’teryx

  • Reviewing a portfolio of lab dips

  • Mentoring, inspiring, and coaching the Colourists in their day-to-day work

  • Partnering with the Manager, Colour Operations to streamline processes related to the logistics of colouring up a complex technical apparel offering

  • Stepping into urgent situations, actively contributing to leading resolutions with vendors and partners across various functions

  • Delving into colour-related industry topics, including sustainability and new dyeing methods, involves actively collaborating with vendors to explore the latest innovations and sustainability options in dyeing

  • Collaborating with the colour operations leadership team to enhance the role of colour operations within the business, aiming to amplify our influence and establish leadership in our technical expertise

Are you our next Senior Colourist?

  • You have a post-secondary degree in Textiles, Apparel, or other related field, or equivalent relevant experience

  • You have 7 + years of experience in the apparel industry, including at least 5 in a colour role

  • You are passionate about pushing the boundaries of colour on textiles

  • You understand design thinking and how it can apply in an operational role

  • You have a project manager mindset

  • You are a curious and effortless collaborator

  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration

  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement

  • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right

$94,000 - $118,000 a year

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$94,000 - CAD$118,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience.

This range reflects market alignment and the scope of the role. Individual pay is determined by your skills, experience, and level of responsibility.
